A 28 year-old, unemployed university graduate, has divorced her ambitious husband, severed  ties with her parents, and now is being thrown out of her flat. Mina is surrounded by troubles. Her mind is made up: she will escape to America like her rebellious aunt did some years ago. But how? She needs money, papers and a visa.
She applies to a fortune-telling café by lying about her experience. The young boss Tayfun finds her unusual and the hyperactive fortuneteller Fazi needs someone she can control; so they welcome her. Through the shapes emerging in coffee cups, Mina expresses her own frustrations and desires to match with those of the customers. Her method proves to work well.
Her hopes blossom but a jealous Fazi and a love seeking Tayfun confuse her mind. Will she be able to get away from present tense and try her luck for the future?

Returning from the military service Cengiz finds out their house will be demolished along with all other houses in the neighborhood next morning. His father is in custody for fighting the police and most of the neighborhood has already given up resisting. He has less than 24 hours to find a way to save their house and also settle peace with his working class father who he blamed for the loss of his mother.
